Oh, what a week its been. Less than a week out from giving birth and I am so glad I decided on an easy theme for Christina and I this week. Black and White. How much easier could it get?
Look at Christina's wonderful piano shot. What a great subject to take in b/w because it looks like it has so much history to it. All of the fingerprints/marks under the keys give it such beautiful character....especially in b/w.
Mine is simply of a yellow dandelion that I processed in b/w. Honestly, I never noticed the curlies in the middle of the flower and it made me want to grab my macro lens that second to shoot it. It felt right to process it in b/w only for the fact that it would focus you on the curlies and not get you distracted by the bright yellow color of the original shot.
On another note, this week brought in a hospital visit, but not the one I expected. Monday night I went into the hospital thinking I was going into labor early. Nope. Ended up I was admitted for having kidney stones. Don't even get me going on how painful and uncomfortable that was at 9 months pregnant. But we survived and I am still scheduled next Tuesday for my c-section.
That being said, Christina and I will be taking a break from Team Up Thursday next week. Depending on how I feel, we will see what the next week brings for me. But I hope to be back in action as soon as possible.

I love the bw processing on the flower. Is it an action you made yourself. I really really like it
ReplyDeleteI'm obsessed with this photo, J! It is just stunning.
ReplyDeleteSending you all kinds of love and good thoughts for next Tuesday! I can't wait to *meet* her!!
wow wow wow - just brilliant - I love both shots to bits (and not just because I play the piano also and I love dandelions) its just because with two simple colours you can "say" and "see" sooo much.
ReplyDeleteLove your theme and photos - great work
Beautiful photos! Love them both! Best wishes to you for next week!
ReplyDeleteOh come on. You can give birth and do Team Up at the same time. ;) I can't wait to hear and see all about the baby and Ella. Hoping you have an uneventful (well uneventfully eventful) birth.
ReplyDeleteLovely lovely macro. You are truly the macro queen.
Awesome, awesome job. You are so right the b&w really brings out the curlies. So beautiful. Good luck next week. I will be thinking about you.
ReplyDeleteOHHHH, I love these! Love the angle of the piano and the flower loving the detail. They almost look like one photo!!! Nicely done!
ReplyDeletethis is definitely one of my favorites from you two; just exquisite, really. the detail and simplicity in both is lovely.
ReplyDeletecan't wait to see photos of the new arrival! you are planning to take photos while you give birth, right??? ;)
hope you are feeling better this week till b-day:).
The piano keys and the dandelion are great together in b/w. It is neat to notice things you never have before especially in something as mundane as a dandelion. Nice editing job. :)
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear about the kidney stones. If they are anything like gall stones, which I had right after my first son was born, you have all my sympathy and some. Be well and have a safe delivery.
WOW that's a dandelion? wonderful. the keys are great too! great job you two and good luck next week!!!
ReplyDeleteJoanne...your shot is brillant. seriously....brillant.
ReplyDeletesorry to hear of your kidney stones....but I'm excited to "meet" your baby soon. I'll be thinking of you! ♥

ReplyDeleteAnd the kidney stones? Yeah, no fun. Had those when I was pregnant with Bryce. OWWW! Hope you're feeling better, and looking forward to seeing that new baby!
So sorry about the kidney stones. That doesn't sound like fun. Best of luck next Tuesday!
ReplyDeleteBoth of these shots are just so beautiful. I love the moodiness in them.
You two always deliver stellar work!
ReplyDeleteOh my, a kidney stone! Being pregnant is hard enough and then that, hang in there. Good luck tomorrow. I will be thinking of you.
Great shots!
ReplyDeleteGood luck tomorrow!! I am sure it will all go smoothly and hope you don't have to spend too much time in the hospital...unless you want a break from homelife, of course. ;) Can't wait to see your little babe! :)
You poor thing -- kidney stones are the worst! Hope you're feeling much better.
ReplyDeleteGood luck tomorrow -- I can't wait to see how gorgeous your next little princess is!
