We have been enjoying our bird feeder this season with many wonderful visitors from Robins, Cardinals and yellow Finches. As a matter of fact, we had a Robin family under our deck and a Cardinal family in a tree near our deck and both of the family's have been daily visitors of our bird feeder, babies and all. Ella gets so excited and when birds visit it she quietly whispers to me to hurry up and come see "Big Daddy Cardinal" on the deck.
Today though....the squirrel found the bird feeder. Four times he came back and four times we were eye to eye. He just stared at me as I slowly opened the screen door and took pictures of him. No fear! That little guy had no fear! I truly think I saw a bit of attitude in his glare too.
Well let me tell YOU Mr. Squirrel (as I put my hand on my hip and roll my head), I'm watching you, and you had better not come all up in my sh*t and act like you own the place! I'm way more partial to the birds than I am you....So you best step away from that bird feeder if you know whats good for you. Maybe if you are nice to me I will hang a peanut butter ball or something from a tree in the woods for you. This Mama just aint havin' it......
My 4 year old gives me enough attitude to last a life time. *sigh*

How funny! Great shot of mr. squirrel! My parents have several bird and humming bird feeders in their yard. Well, Mr. Squirrel's cousins figured out how to make it up the hummingbird feeder's pole (it has a squirrel guard on it, lol). So, my mom made a mix of vasaline and extra hot sauce and smeared it all over the pole. The squirrel hasn't come back since!!!
ReplyDeleteThey may be a nuisance but they are so cute. Look at that one just staring you down.
ReplyDeleteOh yeah, I can totally see the attitude. At least it makes for a good BSM!!
ReplyDeleteLOL! You give that theiving suirrel the whatfor Jo!!! I remember how frustrating it was growing up to have squirrels steal all our fresh produce...and then leave the fruit laying there with one bite out of it. I've not been a big fan of them ever since. I hope he leaves your birdies alone...he'd better, or he'll have to deal with YOU!
ReplyDeletethat one looks like he could give you a run for your money with that look on his face. :)
ReplyDeleteGreat shot! Show that squirrel who's boss; bird seed is too expensive.
ReplyDeleteYep, squirrels are so cute when they are at a distance, right? Lovely shot! Hope he doesn't bother you too much!
ReplyDeleteWe have one in our avocado tree who is quite the nuisance...and fearless! Little stinkers. Good thing they are (kinda!) cute - your does look like he has a little 'tude going on!
ReplyDeleteThe squirrels mostly leave us alone, but the cat next door has an attitude you wouldn't believe! It's a great shot, you'd almost expect him to be all "are you talking to me?"
ReplyDeleteI think his brother lives here. He broke one of my feeders and looks like he broke my hummingbird feeder, too. He will sit on the rail and stare at our cat. I can just hear him saying, "nah, nah, nah, da boo boo!" ;)
ReplyDeleteGreat shot, BTW. :)
Squirrels are rodents aren't they? How come they are so cute?
ReplyDeleteHow funny -- great capture!
ReplyDeleteI love it, attitude from the squirrel. When animals get to used to humans I have to agree they do give you a little bit of attitude especially when there is food involved. :) Nice shot of him though.
